One week ago today, David and Haley were married. It's hard to believe that all the boys now are grown and gone. Life just flies by. Someone took this shot of us and the boys. I don't have one yet of us and the boys and our "girls", but will post one soon.

This is right before the wedding. Daniel and Darin played the prelude music. The wedding started at 7 p.m., but at 6:30, a rainstorm came up. It lasted about 10-15 minutes and cooled the air up beautifully.

Darin, Jody and Caily....Caily did so well the whole trip. She slept and ate. Jody seemed to take it all in stride without missing a beat. I was so amazed at how calm she seemed with the baby and just seemed to sense if the baby was hungry or just tired. She and Darin are doing a great job and little Caily seems so content. She makes these little sighs of contentment that are so cute.

Daniel and Renee...I tried to get a lighter picture, but this is the best one I could get of them. Renee looked so pretty in her cranberry colored bridesmaid dress. Daniel did a good job of helping with the music.

Here we are with the bride and groom....a precious couple. Haley was so calm and collected the whole time...and David was too. When the rain started before the wedding, I just pleaded with the Lord to stop it so the wedding could go as planned. And in His timing, He sent just enough to cool it down and the wedding proceeded without a hitch. I'll post more pictures later.

This is another birthday picture with Darin, Jody, and Caily.

We started to WV for the wedding festivities on Thursday. David wanted us to see their apartment. Haley was in class, so she couldn't be there, but David showed us around their apartment. It's really cute, with three bedrooms and a bath upstairs, and a living room, kitchen, and bath downstairs. Haley had made pillows and a shower curtain. It looked cozy. Here David is "meeting" his new little niece, and Darin is showing him how to "hold" her properly!

This is within about 2 minutes of when Cort Walker Miles met his cousin, Caily Joelle Miles. He thought she was something special. So, we have a Cort and a Caily. Precious children!

This is the day of the rehearsal and Great Grandpa and Grandma Miles are meeting Caily for the first time.
This is the day of the rehearsal. Haley's Uncle Dale and Aunt "Bee" made a scrumptious meal. Everyone commented on how great the food tasted. They hosted the rehearsal meal on the lawn of their lovely home. Here David and Haley went inside and came out with the wedding party's presents decked out in the outfits that Haley's parents wore over 30 years ago when they eloped at age 16 and 17. They looked pretty snazzy! Well, I'll post some more tomorrow, I hope. I just figured out how to get to my pictures once I "uploaded" them. Thank you, Doris, for your helpful comments!

July 31st....we went to the airport to pick up Darin, Jody and Caily. This is Donnie "loving" on Caily before putting her in the carseat (thanks, Garrett, for use of all the "baby" things while Darin and Jody were here.)
We stopped on the way home at a McDonald's and Caily "met" her Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Haas.
This picture is not supposed to be in here at this point, but I couldn't figure out how to turn it upright nor how to take it out. Sooo, if you turn sideways, you can see a shot of Darin and Jody and Caily at the wedding, but wait...I'm getting ahead of myself. Can't you tell I'm an inexperienced blogger???

Darin and Jody flew to SC on his birthday, so we celebrated the next day (Wednesday). I love this picture of Darin and Jody. I'm going to try to post a few more pictures now.

More Musings

Our church sent a "baby shower box" to Darin and Jody and planned for it to arrive while we were there. It came in on Saturday and boy, did they ever get some nice things for Caily. We are so thankful to the Lord for the thoughtful folks of Peace Church.
Here Caily is "modeling" a darling bib cloth monogrammed by Beth Gordon, a lady in our church.
Caily was deep in thought on the morning we left as her mommy was holding her up close. I think she was thinking, "Aww, I don't want my Grandma and Grandpa to leave me yet!"
Here is Grandpa stealing some sugar.

We are getting ready to leave and were taking some pictures outside.

Musings

The picture right below here is one of Caily that looks just like her Grandpa Miles...Don't you agree?? Sorry, Grandpa, I just couldn't resist!

Hi Everyone!

We're trying to savor this last full day here in Texas before we head back home to SC. We are having a great time. Yesterday, we played with the baby, washed clothes, cooked some, held the baby, folded clothes, played games, played with the baby, held the baby, took pictures of the baby, held the baby, and then watched the baby! Grandpa cut the grass using the new green lawn mower. He looked quite at home riding around on it. We tried out the new bread machine that Jody's mom had bought them. We made some rolls and other goodies. About 6 p.m., a real Texas downpour started. We took our food out in rain and then took it up to the "big house" and combined food with John and Diane (the ranch owners) for dinner. Darin had an elder's meeting and couldn't get there till later. We had a nice time of fellowship and played several games of Mexican Train dominoes (I think that's what they called it). That was a lot of fun. I'm going to be searching the internet to find some of those!

Right at this moment, a ham is baking in the oven and some soup is in the crockpot. I hear two "snoozers"....one is Grandpa Miles taking an afternoon siesta and the other is Miss Caily sleeping contentedly on the couch. We sent Caily's mom and dad out on the town for a few hours of "alone" time. I hope they behave and make it home before curfew! We threatened to kidnap Caily and make a getaway to SC while they were away. But come feeding time, Caily would need her mommy, so we decided to stay put!

We will be leaving here around 10 in the morning. We've had a wonderful time of fellowship and holding Caily. Darin and Jody are determined, they say, not to let Miss Caily "rule the roost", so they let her whimper a bit before picking her up. She seems contented and happy. I love to hear her little "sighs" of contentment. It's almost like she just knows that LOVE surrounds her! What a wondrous thing it is to be blessed to be born into a family where mommy and daddy love you and love Jesus most of all! Our prayer is that they will bring her up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

I'm going to try to post several pictures...we've taken a bundle of them! Love to all!

Here we are on Saturday. Little Caily had just been fed and was almost giving me a smile so Grandpa captured the moment. At this point, Caily vascillates between sleeping, eating, and having some wakeful moments. We are having a great time. I did finish the pink blanket, but I have to get a ribbon to finish it off. I'm starting on a bib now....pink, of course!

Isn't this the cutest picture of Grandpa Miles and Caily? I'm going to put one on here of me, but all the pictures taken so far of me and Caily are showing all these wrinkles in my face and I don't know how they got there! Right now, Caily is sleeping on Grandpa's lap. I hope we're not spoiling her!
